Dr. Arzhang Angoshtari joins CEE as an assistant professor

Arzhang Angoshtari joined SEAS on March 1, as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.  He obtained his Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and prior to joining SEAS, he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology.  His research interests include theoretical and computational mechanics, finite element exterior calculus, nonlinear elasticity, dynamical systems and chaos, and lattice theories of solids.  He received the Georgia Tech Jean-Lou Chameau Research Excellence Award and the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers Award in Applied Mechanics for his M.S. thesis.
