CEE announces Five Year Combined Bachelor's and Master's Program
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is pleased to announce the approval of a 5-year program which will enable students to earn both the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. Students may pick up application forms at the Department from Neil Commerce. More

Professor Ali of the University of Basra, Iraq Visits GW
In early April, Professor Kim Roddis, chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Anis A. Mohamad Ali, a professor of civil and structural engineering at the University of Basra in Iraq. Ali is the first person from Iraq in more than 15 years to visit the U.S. as an official visiting professor. More
Nguyen Wins NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Award
Tuong Linh Nguyen, a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was recently selected to receive a 2008 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship award. The award will provide up to three years of support for Nguyen’s graduate study. More
