Welcome to Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) !

Welcome to The George Washington University (GW) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE).  I am pleased to serve as the new Department Chair.  We are working to bring you the finest in educational opportunities.

Some of our new initiatives and developments in the Department include:
  • Exciting News for SEAS and CEE undergraduate students

The CEE Department now offers a comprehensive program in Transportation Engineering in its undergraduate curriculum.  It prepares students for professional careers in transportation engineering and provides a strong fundamental training for post graduate studies.  This curriculum also has strong emphasis in Automotive, Highway, and Multi-modal Transportation Safety and Security, a strength area for which CEE at GWU is world renowned.  Undergraduate students have several opportunities to engage in projects with faculty and graduate students in the state-of-the-art laboratories in internationally recognized research centers and institutes located at GW, including:

            (1)  the Aviation Institute,
            (2)  the Center for Intelligent Systems Research,
            (3)  the FHWA / NHTSA National Crash Analysis Center, and
            (4)  the GW Transportation Research Institute.
